Hi! I'm Becky Boesen, a Nebraska creative with a background in professional theater, nonprofit development, education, asset mapping, social justice, and community building.
Whether consulting on community engagement initiatives, facilitating workshops, or spearheading collaborative arts projects, I'm a passionate advocate for unleashing the power of communities, organizations, and individuals through the celebration and development of creative assets. With over 20 years experience, my collaborative approach nurtures inclusive and meaningful participation, promoting unity, connection, and co-creation.
I blend creativity with strategy, walking alongside clients to help them achieve their goals.
I collaborate closely with my clients, helping them use their strengths to envision innovative solutions.
Your message matters. I can help share it, or better yet - work with you to help you do the same!
You've got everything you need - I'll help you see that and empower you to use your talents to make the future even better!
At the heart of it all, I'm an educator with a knack for innovation and a heart for people. Let's rock some learning out together and spread that stuff like confetti!
I want to help you build robust, inclusive practices and work towards a more welcoming future. I can assist you with DEI, best practices, lobbying, and more!
I offer a variety of services including facilitation, strategic planning, Creative District certification support, asset mapping, storytelling, public speaking, project management and support, and other creative solutions. I'm also a working playwright, available for commission.
I was raised in a rural Nebraska community where as a creative young person, I often struggled to find my fit. After college, I left my home state for awhile, but missed the warm people, wide open skies, and beautiful scenery. I decided to return to Nebraska with a commitment to making my life here as a creative, and helping organizations, communities, and individuals leverage their own creative gifts for good. Helping my fellow Nebraskans recognize and utilize the abundant creative gifts within and around us is a passion of mine.
Yes! While I love working with groups of people, I also am available to coach and mentor individuals who are interesting in unleashing their own creativity and putting their own ideas and talents into action.
If you have a story you'd like to have transformed into a piece of theater, please reach out to my manager, Petra Wahlqvist. The process can take many shapes, but usually I'll ask to meet with you so we can discuss what you're looking for. Then, if we agree it feels like a fit, I will prepare a quote for you to review. Upon accepting that quote, I'll provide a deal memo for a commission and get started on the original play.
Each project looks a little different, so my rates generally vary per project. I am happy to work with you on creating an affordable process and I'll share an outline of what I believe we can accomplish together based on your budget.
